Hervé Villemade | Cheverny Rouge '23
When Hervé took over his family's vineyard all he knew was the conventional side of farming and winemaking with all the pesticides and additives. After tasting wines from luminaries in the natural wine world he decided to remove all the human interventions and let the fruit speak for itself. What he discovered is a lovely truth of organic farming in general; if you want your product to be good you need to give loving attention to your crop because there is nothing to hide behind. Organic farming and natural winemaking has led Hervé to growing practices that make beautiful fruit and his low intervention winemaking showcases all of that character.
